Anyone ever hear of a massey lawn/garden cart that was green. I was told by guy he seen one several years ago at a show and the owner claim it was actually green .

From 1st sight looks to be a HMT (Home made trailer) ? Or at least modified? Never seen a trailer that small with 4 lug wheels and taper bearing hubs, even the fenders look like standard boat trailer fenders? . Like said above looks rugged though. And I myself never saw or heard of a green Massey anything.

 

But hey, ya just never know! Good luck with it if you bought it! Nice find!

I agree with Chris. I’ve never seen a Massey cart built that way. It could’ve been a Massey fan that put a decal on it so it would go with the tractor, but the green? Like everyone said, it’s definitely a heavy duty little trailer. It looks like there’s a dealer sticker on it, what does it say?

It looks like a real nice trailer. It may be home made or it may have been localy fabricated for the dealer. There used to be a trailer manufacturer in this area. A good friend of mine worked there in the 70s and 80s. When trailer business slowed down, they would manufacture wood burning stoves and other small projects for local businesses to carry. Just thinking out loud, if they made a limited run of carts for a local garden tractor shop, they would have used materials on hand from their on-road trailers. That is a great find. Good Luck, Rick

so far I have been told by 2 people that early massey lawn equipment was green . I'm still looking myself. the lower decal is a MF / Hagen decal

found this was a massey ferguson dealer. this trailer was FOUND IN A SCRAP yard about 40 miles from were the dealer ship was .

I know a guy who’s family owned a Massey dealer from the late 50’s up to about 2009. I was hoping last night at a New Years party that he was going to be there but he didn’t come. I wanted to run this by him and see if he’d ever heard or seen anything like this. Next time I see him I’ll be sure to ask. I’m not sure when that’s going to be but I’ll be sure to post what he says.

I've been around Massey Tractors and their Dealers/Addicts for most of my adult life.

Only OEM Green ones I've seen were the MH Pacemaker, Some of the MH 25 units, and the ones built for the military.

 

It could have been sold with that sticker on it from a dealer (as mentioned above, Dealer built or commissioned) if so, why Green?

From that era, there would have been a MF sticker with at least a model number.

Nice. I'm fan of retro stuff and just want to say that things was better years ago...
