try a hand pump bottle of clear liquid tire shine, Its usually just liquid silicone ,inert and not harmfull to the enviroment and easy to apply . but nothings perfect and i still rely on a shute shaped plunger for easy clearing of shute without risk to hand

Hey all

Hope everyone is having a great holiday.... I fixed everything but the hood hinges and mowed the lawn with a big smile today, nice tractor !! If the snowblower works as well this will be one awesome machine.

The hinges for the hood appear to be 4 identical nylon blocks..and if anyone has them the list price is 53.75 YIKES !!!! Hope thats for all 4 pivots. So has anyone made hinges for this Bolens (1600H) and can I see a pic ? If not I think I will just get some aluminum bar stock and make my own pivot blocks and a few extras if someone else needs them. Mike B

Another Bolens !!! Well I have officially joined the club with my second purchase, a
1400 ... I thought I might need
some parts and was hoping it was another Hydro Trans but turned out to be a 4 speed.... but still lots of useful parts...sheet metal appears identical
so maybe restore the paint and then swap the bodies...or get the 1400 going and have 2.... I can see this is a sickness.....

I machined some
aluminum hinge blocks for the 1600 and have used it several times now....what a nice machine !!! Getting ready to disassemble the snowblower a for sandblast and paint... try to keep the snow from sticking come January....

If anyone needs 1400 parts let me know.... Mike B
