I picked up a massey ferguson excutive a while back and have been working on restoring it. I recently found the tag on the tractor and wanted to know if anyone could tell me the year of this tractor, and any other info this tag tells. the tag is as folows:

Massey-Ferguson, Inc.
Detroit Michigan, U.S.A.
by a subsidiary of
DURA CORP.
at richmond, Indiana, U.S.A.
Model: MF7E Serial: 03903

Very cool to have all of that on a tag. I know we have a serial number date sheet in the manuals section but if I am not mistaken it covers the MF7G/H to MF16 and not the executives.

Hopefully someone will be able to answer it for you though. Welcome to GTtalk

I think they were only made in 1964 and 1965.

You might check this out.

A while back, I was hot on the trail of one that I was trying to get. Never panned out, but I did a lot of lookin
around on the WWW at the time, trying to educate myself on those treasures. Not much info out there on them.
Lookin forward to more pics of your progress. Would be great if you posted your rig into the registry, when you're
ready.

It has a Cigarette lighter! I'm not a smoker, but I find it interesting none the less.

I found the uploads a little while ago, thanks for uploading them. didnt think i was going to find the owners manual. I really wanted to find out the year of it and mikebramel answered that one for me. Only thing i cant find and no one in my area seems to know is the paint number for the yellow paint they used on these tractors.

thanks mike for the paint info. Went to the store and found the paint but to be honest i didnt like the shade of it. So I am going to use a different yellow paint scheme. It wont be OEM but hey I guess when you re do an old machine you put part of yourself into it to make it your own sorta speak. So it wont be totally original but it will be an eye catcher after Im done with it.

I just picked up the LAGC magazine for May/June 2011. On page 54 there was a little info on this tractor that iv been working on. It says " Only 678 documented, shipped MF7E tractors are known to exist, but finding a restored one for this article was impossible". " It is believed that only 3,500 - 5,000 Executives were ever built during 1963 to 1965". I did'nt think that this little tractor was that rare. I can't wait to get it done. The writer of the article lives in the state beside me (Ohio). I got his e-mail and phone number to get in contact with him. Im hoping he can give me more information on the tractor.

I know of one here in WA state. The guy wanted to sell it, someone had painted it orange for some reason. He might still have it if anyone is interested.
