I was rewiring my Cub125 and dropped the skid plate. 40 yrs of dirt and grime was on the plate. I crawled out from underneath and then looked back an saw a pin on the floor. Clean, about 6” long and never heard it fall and dont see where it goes. Governor pin? Help!

Not part of the tractor that I know of.

Looks like a hunk of Stainless steel with that bluish/brown color. Maybe someone was going to make driveshaft pins out of it or allready made them and sat that hunk on top of the gas tank and it fell off?  Looks about the same diameter as the stainless driveshaft pins my uncle made for me for the old 127.

Put it somewhere you won't forget. You might need it!

Thanks to allwho have commented. Im almost done with the rewiring and I will give the mechanicals a look over soon. I downloaded a repair manual with explodedviews of everything and dont see it (if its not a governor pin) and will just chock it up to something that fell from above thats not related. Maybe it was there from before I pulled the Cub in for repairs and I just missed. Lol
