So a couple of days ago I found a listing on Facebook for some ford/Jacobsen garden tractors. The guy was younger and was selling the tractors for his mother, they used to belong to his father before he passed. They wanted 600 bucks for a Ford Lgt 145 close sided in great condition (minus the fact it was in parts) but the older guy had put each nut and bolt in labeled baggies and boxes. He had literally every single part and more. Had boxes of deck bearings. Brand new deck rollers. The whole nine yards. It was amazing. He also had the hub caps which some of you know are pretty rare to find in good condition. Any way to add on he had 4 parts tractors that were a mix of ford and Jac. Plus he has a Ford Lgt 145 open sided that was complete, beautiful deck, the steering box was shot though. And said it ran when parked. But all 4 parts tractor and the open sided were stored outside for 15 years 🙄😩. He also had 4 plows and a extra deck to go With it. This guy had an amazing collection let me tell you. But the problem was I didn’t have enough money for the lot so I brought 250 which is all I had extra. I tried getting him to sell me the complete opensided and a parts ford with a rear pto
on it for 250 but he wouldn’t take my $100 because it was a rough looking bill... so I basically had 150. Keep in mind he wanted to sell me one parts frame with no motor but everything else on it for 150. I ended up getting him to sell me two parts frames, both with hydro trans one with hydraulic lift. And one with a motor with no starter, coil, or tank. For 150 ! He also threw in 4 deck rollers and a gas tank. So I think I got out pretty good ! I wish I had enough for the lot though it killed me to not be able to take it all lol ! So how do you guys think I did ? ( I already harvested the steering box from the ford for one of mine). Also I found this super cool ford tractor co. Repair tag under the seat of my grandpas Ford Lgt !
