We move through life thinking we have everything under control Then a time like this reminds us how helpless we really are. I lost my mother this spring and miss her dearly. you have my condolences for what it is worth. I know my mother would expect me to keep on.   Don.

I am so sorry to hear this. Only those who have lost our beloved life partners can truly understand where you are at this time, the emptiness is devastating.  I am so thankful for the patience and understanding our friends here on this forum have shown me in my loss, please let us help you through this time as well. Don't hesitate to let us know how you're feeling; vent, remember, and share when you're ready.  It helps.    My thoughts and sympathy are with you.

Sad news to hear! I know the feelings well. My condolences to you and the family.

Folks here are a big help in this sad time. They helped me cope with the loss. Focusing on the joyous times you had together helps to cope with those empty times. And remember your children and grandkids are feeling the loss also. They need you to help them along.

I'm just so sorry. All I can say is take care of yourself, stay busy, eat well and don't make any big decisions for awhile.

This is terrible news, my heart is heavy for you.  A lot has already been said, grieving will take much time, give it the time it needs.  Remember her and cherish the great life you had and throw yourself into what she would have wanted you to do.  Your love will always endure.

I am sorry to hear of your loss - it is my hope that this verse gives you a little comfort

It is hard to loose a best friend and wife
It makes us ask many questions about life
So quick and sudden without any warning
We are thrust into emptiness and begin mourning
The hopes and the dreams of years suddenly cast aside
Part of you aches for that person who from your life was pried
No words can fill that void in your heart
And it can be so hard every new day to start
The healing process begins but is so slow
It is so hard to get over the loss of someone close you know
But hope we must for better days ahead
As we struggle to find a reason to get out of bed
Lean on your family and friends and remember the past
The good times you shared as those memories will last

My sincere condolences. We all handle this differently. My wife died in May, just a couple of weeks short of our 39th anniversary. I'm still numb and expect her to walk in the door anytime. What keeps me going is doing what I can to support our son.

Take joy from your children and grandchildren. Unfortunately now, when we are alone we are really alone. For me, Martha still exists in my memories and our son. Having activities to fill the day will make it easier. Sharing with friends does help abit too.  I'm pulling for you, we are all in this together. Good Luck, Rick
