I was reading some sites I like to frequent that talk about the outdoor power industry and seen this article about a recent lawsuit that was won by the current company who makes Tecumseh parts , it appears the original investors who sold the Tecumseh line of parts lied and withheld tooling and blue prints that were supposed to be handed over in the 2009 aquisition.

It now sounds like the new company is seriously thinking of making a go of bringing back the snow king line and other popular Tecumseh engines that went NLA in 2008!

Personally this is great news especially for the snowblowers, these new chinese ones on the Blowers today are crap and you cant even get parts for them !

I hope they do a better job at it. I don't care for the newer style Tecumseh engines.

Wonder if just little engines like in those plastic small blowers? They made lots of those and were just cheapies. Not a big comeback in my mind.

they're fine except for the carburetors. go back to adjustable so that the surge especially on the snow kings could be tuned out of them and they'd be alright...

X2 on the carbs.  My Snow King on my Cub Cadet 8.5HP snowblower surges like a bastardo unless the temp isn't -10C 14F

Problem is they are forced to make non adjustable carbs due to the EPA regulations, I dont think any current engine manufacture is allowed an adjustable carb anymore.

That's why the choke knob has 3 positions.

Be nice if they brought back the OH cast iron horizontal line, with the overhead value they should be able to get them to meet emission's.

Yeah but I like em to run w/o any choke once they start. I have a carb from an older engine to bolt onto my Deere 828D when I get it back home after I make sure that the varmints didn't invade the cooling find while in storage.
