I picked up another S12 today. I bought it for parts, but now I'm thinking about restoring it, but keeping the patina on it. It has a good baked in the sun look to it.20171102_112030.jpg 20171102_133011.jpg

Looks like a good machine. Hopefully, it won't take too much to fix up. Find a plow or a snowblower for it and be ready for winter. Have fun. Good Luck, Rick

The lever for the PTO wont engage. I'm gunna try to start it up and go from there. If it's a runner, I will fix it up. If not I will part it out.

Good news is, it does turn over. It would not start. Not sure what the deal is right now. 20171103_160006.jpg

Great score!  I have not seen the "deluxe" emblem before, but I am realitively new tothe Gilson/MW side of garden tractors.

I tried to get it started again today. There is no spark. Compression is good. There is hope I can get it running.

Have you cleaned the flywheel of rust? Magneto, too? Reset the gap for that?

I did all of that and it ran for 15 seconds. The carb is shot. There is a lot of rust on this. The throttle and choke cables are rusted tight. The carb leaks fuel. I had to clean all the electrical connections due to rust. It does run enough to know it sounds decent. I'm undecided what to do with it. Either take some parts off it and sell it to the next guy. Or spend some time this winter restoring it. If I did do that I would paint it all yellow.

I did some digging and found two others with the "deluxe" badge on the front.  Not sure what it means

Interesting. I can't see anything special about this tractor.

That belt setup on the front is the PTO.  There are two more pulleys behind the frame that route the belt to the deck or whatever else you have.
