I decided to make a new thread after that "more Bolens" thread is getting a bit long LOL

Here's a post I copied from the other thread:

Well, The Estate keeper has begun its "Refurbishment" journey
I'm not going to disassemble every nut and bolt so thats why I am calling it a refurbishment and not a restoration. It just wouldn't feel right LOL.
Here are some pictures of where I'm currently at.

Note to self: Next time, take the thing apart on some pavement and not in the dirt LOL

Thanks for the pics. I finally see how they got it to bend in the middle. One of these would be fun.

Thanks for the pics Brian. You did a really great job. I was hoping you were taking the EK apart to ship it to my house in small boxes but I guess your plan is to keep restoring it. Keep up the good work.

Today, I got the rest Disassembled and pressure washed/ Degrease all the parts.
I'm going to take the parts to a friend who blasts them for me. Usually he charges me less then what it would cost for me to buy the sand and supplies LOL.

I'll be ordering my decals and I'll be getting the brinly Dump attachment blasted as well.
I also got to hunt down some NOS EK parts such as the shifter knob and steering wheel cap.

I ended up going to NAPA today and bought a gallon of "Purple Power" Degreaser. It worked great and only was $6 for the gallon

BTW.... Anyone got a NOS can of yellow for the EK?
The yellow on the EK itself is so faded I cant get a good match

I just painted mine with John Deere Yeller. Seemed close to me and it was good enough for who it was for!
