I finally start insulating my shop after 12 years of ownership! I've decided that my knees and hands don't like the cold so much anymore. The small space heater is not cutting it and so I bought a used wood pellet stove to help keep it a lot warmer once I finish. A previous own left behind a 5 foot long roll of un-faced R-13. The walls are 10 ft tall 2x4 24" on center so I cut the roll down to 23" with a long fine tooth wood saw. It did a quick and easy job of the insulation. I don't know how long the roll is because I'm still using the first roll and just about to the end of it. All that you see in the picture, except two narrow bays was completed with this first roll! I can still get one more roll cut from the longer roll that remains so I think I will get almost get one 40 ft wall insulated. That's a lot more than I thought I would get complete with free insulation!
I also installed one 220 volt 20 amp outlet for my drill press and one 50 amp outlet for my stick welder. The shop is a mess right now because I've had to move everything away from the wall to work on it.
This took me 2 day to complete.
