I am not sure what other models of tractor had these decks, but I've got the 18h.  I am just checking to see if anyone has a spindle for a reasonable price.  New ones are too expensive to be worth fixing it with.

You should be able to rebuild the spindles. Bearings don't cost very much. You should be able to take the spindles apart and bring the bearings in to your local Napa parts place and they will be able to match up a set of bearings for you.

Yikes, no thanks.  I can't afford to be a collector, I am just in it for the cheapest way to take care of the grass/snow/garden/etc.  Replacing the bearings is fine, but one of the spindles is worn down badly and needs either fixed or replaced, and I am guessing replacing will be cheaper if I can find one.

If we had a model # for the deck then we might find a replacement spindle. Here's a link to some Lawn-Boy/Gilson spindles.

The decks were 63687A and 63688C.  The only place I found any was new from messicks, but for $300 it isn't worth fixing.

I can't get those #'s to work there. Did you get a spindle #?

Messicks has the spindle listed as LB744691.  Unfortunately not the same as the jakes or the smaller 38 inch gilson decks which seem to be much more common.
