also my sears super 12 has an oil leak, im trying to narrow it done I think it is coming from the front of the engine underneath the rectangle cover(im not even sure what this is covering) but it is held on by two screws? is this possible spot or common problem on the hh120 for the oil to leak from? thanks.

Thats called the breather and its normal to see a "little bit" of residue near the tube, but if its leaking,  bad rings could cause it (excessive blow by) or you could have a bad gasket. Also take note that that rectangle plate has marking on it that reads "TOP" when installing it make sure its correct ant that the top is on top.
