Will 317 dual brakes transfer over to an open frame 316?

I believe they are a little different, you would probably do better with the brakes from a 318 or 420.

There are significant changes in the frames between the closed frame 300 series (300/312/314/316K/317) and the open frame 300 series (316 Onan/318/322/330/332) which I why I pointed you to the 318 parts in the previous thread.  The move to open frame began in 1984 and there are rolling changes along that entire production run.  Finding parts from a 318 in the same approximate serial number range will make the swap easier.

Thanks Trav! The only reason I started this thread is because I found a decently priced parts 317 tractor.

If you can get it right, the parts from that machine can be used to upgrade 314s (and later 312s) and are in demand.  If you have the $ and the space, you could likely make some $ on it if the tractor is priced right.
