I have the Simplicity/Allis 9020/720 and the boom on the backhoe is drifting when I release the stick. It has 6 sticks to control everything.
I want to swap out this old control valve.
Anyone know what I should be "googling" to find a replacement?
Support the boom, disconnect and cap the lines. Remove the support and see if it drifts then. If it does, its the cylinder packing. If it doesn't, its the valve. Divide and conquer. Isolate and test. Don't want to spend money and have the same problem as before.
Some you can and some not. The ones on both my New Holland and my smaller loader controls were not rebuildable. There were no O-rings on the spools. They relied on a close tolerance fit and when they became scratched or worn there was no repair available.
