We always used regular white rice, but lately I'm liking  Thai Red.  It has a richer flavour, almost  wheat like. 

Made it last night. Only thing I added were some hot chilies just because. It was good and a easy way to get sauerkraut into kids no doubt. Served with oven fries.

I'm glad you liked it....for those who enjoy the heat the chillies are a good idea. I'm not really into that so the thought never came to me. I generally serve it with a mixed green salad, but that's my thing.

Just as an aside, have acquired three pans now, a 12”, 10 1/4” and a nice little 2-egger. Made Cowboy Kent Rollin’s recipe for pan-fryed shredded hashbrowns. Inhaled!
