I inherited a great uncles cub 169. He bought it new and never let it set outside or unwashed. Started it up to mow a small area and the drivetrain just stopped? I grew up mowing his lawn on this tractor,,it never failed to do anything! Looking for input and advice! New member here, hello to all!
I had a man at sale offer me $1500.00 for it. It is a superbly clean tractor. 400 hrs. My neighbor says it's worth more? Any ideas on value would also be appreciated

It most likely broke a spiral pin in the drive shaft, remove the tunnel cover and see if the driveshaft is spinning the shaft going into the trans. As for value, If you can get some fool to give you $1500 for it then you better take it, on the open market you would have a hard time getting even close to $1000.

Let's get the drivetrain issue sorted out. You'd kick yourself if you sold that tractor later down the road.

If someone offered me 1500 it would of been gone. Heck I would of delivered it to him. 169 I think was one of the lower production runs but I see them frequently for 500 to 800 complete running and in good condition.

Unfortunately the 169 in our collection fell out of the back of our truck 15 years ago...
