Anyone ever change the seal for the directional control shaft?  Mine is leaking and just wondering if it can be done while still in the tractor?

I did one, but off the tractor. Should be easy enough on, Obtain the proper seal, remove linkage and drain oil, pry old seal off with a small screwdriver. Change fluid and filter.

If you don't mind laying under there to pry it out, looks simple to do.

So I got the seal changed here are the things that I found that should be shared.

  - The shaft for the control lever is tapered and required lots of force to remove it.  I ended up dimpling the end of the control shaft with the drill and using a two jaw puller.

  - To use a puller on the shaft, both hydraulic lines must be removed to have room for the puller.

Here is the seal number
