I talked with someone sometime back about a Q16 he had for sale. He called me back today and wondered if I was still interested in it. He was originally asking $600.00 for the tractor with tiller, snowblower, and maybe a snow blade. That was a bit more that I was wanting to spend at the time. Anyway, he's now willing to "negotiate".

Thing is I can't find any info on a Q16. I can find QS 16, and QT 16, but no Q16.

Am I right to assume that he's talking about one or the other?

I never heard of a Q16, either, but that doesn't mean much.

The QT-16 was introduced in 1973 as a model 1666-01 and was equipped with an Onan BF/MS engine. ....It was also offered in 1974 (1666-02), 1975 (1666-02, -03), 1976 (1666-03), & 1977 (1666-03). .....(It may have been around longer but my book only goes to 1977.)

The QS-16 was introduced in 1974 as a model 1660-01 and was equipped with a Kohler K341 engine. ....It was also offered in 1975 (1660-01, -02), 1976 (1660-02), & 1977 (1660-02). .....(It may have been around longer but my book only goes to 1977.)

There was also an H-16 (models 1656-01, -02), but that was a tube-frame tractor.

That's what I figured as well.

What would be the pros and cons when comparing the QS (Kohler single cyl.) to the QT (Onan twin cyl.)?

Sorry, but I can't help with that question. ......My preference would be for the Kohler, but that is only because they were always a high-quality product IMHO. ....The Kohler was a cast-iron block. .....(Onan is aluminum??????)
