So, dug the Irish cobbler potatoes that I planted July 14. This date is the half way point of the growing season here. So I dug out green mountain potatoes July 14, then in the same spot planted the cobblers. First of may to july14 is the same amount of time as July 14 until sept 30, about. So my test was some what successful. Got 10lbs of cobblers out today. I'm thinking if I planted the second planting on July 1, I would get a better crop. But not to bad of crop for what I was trying to do.
And plowed down the buck wheat in next years potatoe patch. That's twice this year in the same spot for plowin under the buckwheat.
And got to drive a cub today and the fella that owned the cub drove my Ford tractor. Fun day for both of us and he went home with new Irish cobblers for thanks giving dinner, next weekend.

Yep and some times the third or fourth week of April. Depending on the winter

Great pictures Noel. It looks like you had a good time. I finished digging the last of my potatoes earlier this week as well, but I was using a shovel. I got 125 pounds altogether, mostly red chieftans. It was not my best crop ever, but not a bad one either. I got a lot of good sized ones. This is one of the biggest.
