I'm a little late to the show, but your transmission looks to be in pretty good shape with very little wear on the cluster gears.

I tore into the 3 speed on my 750 last winter and I wish it looked that good!

Thanks! I definitely noticed some wear (due to shifting without a functioning prop shaft brake) but not enough to cause me to tear the thing down...yet. I’ll run it and see what happens. With new fluid and proper brakes, the gears shouldn’t wear appreciably. All gears have as much wear as the cluster gears (except the bronze gear). FYI Pennzoil GM synchromesh works great in yellow metal transmissions like the Bolens (discovered during my VW days) but I’m unsure of its viscosity...it may be too thin, or maybe not. My old Jetta with the O2O loved it, put 50k miles on that transmission with a chipped reverse idler and would still be going today if the timing chain tensioner didn’t fail.
