Pulled the gearbox apart last night..  The gears/shafts are fine..  Gotta find the bearings..

Anyone ever tackled this before??  If not I'll post my progress..

I have to say I have a gearbox, but it's still on my working deck. So I won't part with it. Post some pics so we can see what's in there.

It came apart in pieces since the bearing blew up..  I ordered the plugs and seals from Mudder Deere and am working in the bearings today..  It may be a few weeks..  Meanwhile my Stepmom will borrow my machine..  She drives it reaaaaqaalllllyyyy  slow...

You got that right. She must drive really slow. Tell her to speed up a little so the upper bearings get lubed.

Well the bearings came in and I put it together 3 times to get the thing shimmed right..  It's back on the machine and the lawn got mowed on the only dry day we had..  That thing must have been binding for a while because she said it throws grass a lot better now..  Thank God that task is behind me now..

PS-  Sorry but no pictures as I was in a hurry to get it back in service..
