I figured I would post another update. The D4-7 is a non runner for now until I get a chance to yank the motor and go over it. I would like to redo the valves and check the timing. I just can't get it to run right and I have never had one act the way this one does. I have had the carb apart several times thinking it is the float but it isn't.

Are you thinking compression or a sticky valve?

I do think sticky valve or possible slop in the flywheel key. Once in a while I can get it to pop off and run alright and then the next time it keeps choking on itself.

Not sure why, but I've had more sticky valves with Wisconsin's than any other make.

I am going to get a gasket kit for both the Wisconsin S7D and the S10 and also get a set of rings for both and hone the cylinders. I will replace anything else that isn't in spec as well. Part of me wants to restore them but then part of me likes them the way they are. I just know I want them running good. The D4-10 runs awesome and idles perfect, just smokes.
