Hi guys, I'm new here and an having issues with the in-laws 212. It seems to run fine for about 5-10:minutes then idles down and dies. It acts like it's not getting fuel.
Welcome to GTT. Download the manuals for the tractor and its engine from our Manuals Section. There will be a troubleshooting guide to help you find the problem. I am not familiar with your particular tractor but you should check the gas cap on the tank for the vent, the fuel filter for plugging or water, the fuel lines for deterrioration caused by ethanol, and blockage in the carb inlet. Let us know how you do. The simplest check is to disconnect the fuel line at the carb and see how well fuel flows out of it into a can. Good Luck, Rick
:welcometogttalk: I see your from Florida, hope you were spared some by Irma. Rick offers some good advice , start there and let us know how it goes. we can help trouble shoot if you need anything else. And of course if you have any pics of said tractor , we'd love to see them.
This is kind of a long shot but I had a 112 that acted similar, it was the wire going to the points that had weaken due to movement over the years I suppose. I couldn't see it because it was in the insulation. It would run fine cold and then gradually lose power as the wire heated up. I cut off the bad end, reconnected it to the points and all was well.
Yea that's correct, it's the iseki diesel.
I just got a new fuel bowl and filter in so will hopefully get a chance to work on it tomorrow.
Thanks for they replies!
Well I did get it figured out. Someone put gas in the yellow diesel container, flushed the tank and added a new fuel filter assembly as the old one was bad anyways and filled her up with diesel. Runs great now!
No, it was from Beisswenger's, and it was many years ago.
