I have a simplicity disk, it's kinda butchered... tongue was modified so previous owner could pull behind atv etc, has rack for weight (say a log or large pipe) and it's in need of new bearings.

Id like to put a set of notched disk plates on there, so I can work the ground better. Currently it doesn't do much. At one point I had a stout chunk of poplar on it, along with my old man... he's uh, not skinny.

Does anyone know if there's a place I could get proper sized disk plates?

Now for the bearings. What sort of wood should I use to make the new bearings from? Any designs/plans for the bearings?

 Rock Maple.

I saw an ad for wood bearings not too long ago.

Do a search and I'm sure you'll find something.    Rick

Since it's been as you said " butchered "  could you use a plasma cutter or find someone to notch the discs you have ?
