I'm looking at purchasing a snowblower attachment model number 303 for my cub cadet 1861. Just trying to figure out if it will fit on my tractor before I put the money down. Thanks

No it won't.  The 303 is for the 2000 & 2500 series tractors.  You need a model 451 or 551 snowblower for you tractor.                                       Stewart

I just talked to the guy selling it and he said he's not positive that 303 is the model number because the sticker fell off. He's selling the tractor it came off of too. It looks to be the same model as my 1861 but can't tell due to the hood being gone. The model number of his tractor is 140-651-100 and mine is 142-663-100.

That model number comes up as a 1541.  If the blower did come off that tractor it will mount up to yours, but I'm not sure how well it will work.  The 1541 has a 4.5" pulley on the pto clutch and the 1861 has a 6" pulley.  Also the 1541 used a model 450 blower which is almost the same as the 451 other than the gears in the gear box.  They changed the tooth count on the gears inside the gear box when they came out with the bigger clutch pulleys on the later versions of the tractor to make up for the difference in the pulley sizes.  A picture of the blower will tell if its a 303 or a 450 as they're vastly different designs on the mounting.                       Stewart

Measure your PTO pulley, the early 1861 had the smaller 4.5" PTO and the later ones had the larger PTO.

Sorry for the late reply, it’s the larger PTO, so I should just be looking for a 451? Thanks for all your replies and help

That won't fit your 1861 its the 303 40" blower that fits the 2000 series.  Here's a 451 on ebay right now http://www.ebay.com/...hUAAOSwdrhZpHiF  They say it came off an 1862 which is the same machine as yours except it has power steering.

You can see the difference in the mounting brackets and drive belt setup.  The 451 mounts to the outside of the frame with the 2 frankenstein bolts like the mower mule drive and the belt goes direct from the pto clutch around 2 idler pulleys to the blower.  The 303 sits inside the frame rails and the belt goes from the pto clutch to a double pulley under the middle of the tractor and then back to the blower.

This one is miss marked as fitting the later GTX2000 series from 2011-2014 but is really a 551 that will fit yours.  I'd try and get a hold of them and find out if maybe they put the wrong pictures or listed it wrong on the listing. http://www.ebay.com/...5.c100009.m1982

Not knowing much about them, is $700 a fair price for it?

It might be a little on the high side but it looks to be in good shape.  Around here they're getting hard to find so it's pretty much worth whatever your willing to pay for it.
