The left rear axle seal on my 316 is leaking pretty heavily. I was planning on going to the dealer in the morning to try to buy the part. I am fairly confident I can figure it out as I am an auto mechanic but these machines are pretty complex and has quite a different rear axle than a car or truck. If anyone has any pointers they would be much appreciated or else I'm just going to dive in head first and I'll let you all know how it goes. :confuse:
84 Deere 316 axle seal, anyone ever done one?

Not ever having done one, I can't tell you, but it's not hard & being a mechanic you can handle it easily. I have a JD F935 front mower that is leaking bad from the same seal, so I'm looking at the same job as soon as I can get to it. The oil leaked onto the rim so that now my valve stem is swollen from the oil & the tube will have to be replaced. I'm surprised the tube hasn't let go already.
