Been There, Done That...

A few years ago I was trying to get down a weight class in My MH81. Pulled the battery for weight & didn't realize the cutout on the generator was stuck on. 1/2 way down the track, there was a blue flame a foot out the exhaust and a few feet later, I was being towed off by another brand (green). Oh the shame. Next morning, I looked into it & found the points had been arced off. About a quarter inch was missing... kinda changed the timing. LOL

I found a bare spot in the hot battery cable about a half inch long,grounded out on the frame.Fixed that little problem.
