They have been a PIA for a while now. Went around and dug up some of their tunnels and stuck the end of a hose hooked to a propane bottle in there. Messed around a bit more and went to water a new flower bed they had been in. Saw some air bubbles coming up through the flood of water. Lo and Behold, a mole surfaced! 5 seconds later he bounced off the side walk and then I worked him over with the 4 tine garden fork. About 4" long. He won't dig anymore tunnels around here! More Propane and water down the hole! If I don't flood them out, I'll gas them!

I've heard that hand grenades in the tunnels work pretty good.  :smilewink:

Hehehehe   Darn things got a bunch of big mounds up by my shed. I keep tramping them down flat and next day there back up.

You need a mole blaster. This looks fun lol.

I could definitely make a propane blaster like that with some copper pipe,a decent ball valve and a bbq grill igniter.

Watch out for the moles that smoke - they could cause a big bang theory that you don't need.

Still remember the time a chap was trying to get rid of a ground hog near his barn - decided to pour gasoline down the hole and light it.  The ground hog quickly came out of the hole on fire and ran straight into the barn - you guessed it - the barn caught fire and burnt to the ground.  Not the outcome the chap was looking for - be safe.

Oxy, and Acetylene mixed, that'd rid em!

Be careful, this crap is dangerous in the correct mixture. From the torch, OF COURSE!

Put mole beans in their runs and keep grub killer on your yard.

Kenny! I'm surprised. Those little things were put on this earth to help you. Who else is going to get rid of those nasty ole grubs and worms? And what are owls and ferrets going to eat if you finish them all off? You have just totally thrown the environment out of whack around you. Don't be surprised if the weather changes for the worse.

Instead of wasting propane/acetylene, I run a hose from my tractor exhaust. Plus it's a new use for your tractor

I had a problem with mole's smaller cousin, voles. Around a year ago I got fed up and as like Tink said there's a certain grub they eat, like moles. That plan of killing off the food supply looked like a bigger job than I could handle though. I bought a few boxes of rodent smoke bombs at Tractor Supply and let them have it.

I haven't seen any trace of them since, but it's also been a very dry year so that may have killed off the grubs and made the ground too hard for burrowing. At any rate they seem to be gone for now.

That propane blaster looks like a lot of fun though, it almost makes me want them to come back!

Sorry, I started writing this over an hour ago but got an interruption!

I can't imagine pumping the ground full of propane while smoking a cigar. . .          or maybe I can.

lol

I have the doll they sold. Loved that little guy!

It's light enough I could survey the yard and no more new piles of dirt so far. I put the hose back in the hole under the porch (concrete) and turned it on full blast! Maybe that will collapse some of the condo's down there!
