"I had this machine running and cutting last season until the condenser went out and I don't have the time to fix it anymore. If you know anything about these tractors you know what they can do and how tough they are. Asking 375 thanks."

I'm looking at this later today. I don't think it runs presently. What should I look for and can the trany be check without it running? I have no experience with Simplicity/AC so any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks, Roger

Zippo Varga on Youtube does several good videos on assessing the condition of old Allis Chalmers and Simplicity Tractors. With the rain catcher gas cap, there is probably water in the gas tank. If the water got as far as the carb, it can be a problem. Download the manual for it from our Manuals Section and read it. It only looks like a $100 machine to me until he gets it running. When they don't run you got to assume alot of problems. By the way, if it is hydrostatic, the transmission has two buttons that need to be pushed in or you will damage the transmission when rolling it. IF it runs good and the deck is good then $375 is only a little high. Make sure that it has the hitch lift on the back. When set up and working right, that machine will do a good mowing job. Good Luck, Rick
