We got a 2.5 lb rump roast and I'm cooking it up tonight. Started out searing it in a cast skillet. Some water and other seasonings in the pot. Let it cook for 2 hrs. and added baby carrots. Another hour and some potatoes and onion. Also put some McCormick Brown Gravy Mix in for more flavor. We'll eat it all!

Sounds good. And yes, I am hungry and an hours drive away from supper. And reading about your deluxe meal has made me hungrier.

Turned out AWESOME! I put a little much Gravy mix in, but that just made the gravy in the pan! I'm stuffed!

Had roast here too but didn't go to that much trouble.  The Cook had it in the slow cooker while she did a bunch of peaches.  Got 6 - qt. bags full and in the freezer.  Had the roast for supper and darn it was good.  Picked up a big truck rim today for a fire pit.  Next project - then get the deer stands up - then get the cider press out and grind apples for a day.

I did a roast in the crock on Sunday. Marinated overnight in honey, with just enough Jack Daniels to thin it down. Gooooood stuff. New potatoes and carrots from the garden don't hurt it none, either.

Wife fix a roast in the slow cooker Sunday but added noodles and then fix mashed taters to go with it.
