Bought 2 Tec engines today, just because. One is H50 other don't get model. Thint it says 43 or maybe 143. Doesn't look like H in front. The 5 horse might be from snow blower, has pull start, and place for starter, not on it. Blowers had 120 volt starters many times. Not sure on spark yet. Not sure right carb. Has Clinton name on carb? No link to control from throttle. Also has no real air Cleaner, again like blower engines.
The white one, not sure hp, but is bigger. Has big shaft. Does have juice thru plug wire, zapped myself. Has Control that full on makes choke too and electric shut down the other way. Gas tank (missing) was up high. What think it is? White one hand start only.

143 sounds like the start of a Sears/Craftsman part number.

White one 143-596012 is a 7hp Tecumseh out of a Sears Custom 7. Air filter assembly and engine mount are off of a Sears custom and the exhaust someone made so it would clear the hood and grill.

Interesting carb on the H50.Carb is a Clinton embossed Walbro LMG carb. Wonder what clinton engine that cam off of? Would have to be 1962 or later for that carb. That is an original Clinton air filter assembly to.

Good parts Manual for the Clinton carb and air filter assembly.

Thanks for info. Figured white one had to be little bigger. SO, that is a Clinton carb then. odd!  I'll play with these later. That carb info pages, could you make a posting in Manuals section?  Others might like that too. It's like Too Much Information for me to print all that out, and not sure what pages I should choose. Have to look better later. Thanks Guy's

they did make a 5hp engine off the same series of block as that 143 series engine you have....  in real Tec numbers (not Sears model numbers) there was an H50 that would be a 5hp that looks identical to that 7hp from outward appearance (different bore and stroke)  where most snow blowers had an "HS50"  which is a smaller framework...
