Newbie here.... Got a JD 316

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Here is a pic from last night. New tires, repainted wheels and the new dump cart.

You may notice the tail lights. I found an old 318 tail light harness on ebay and added the working tail lights which I thought are much better than the reflectors

Next up is the deck.


Good idea with the 318 tail lights. I picked up a couple of LED tail lights and am installing them on my 314. We'll see how they look. They seem very bright and use a fraction of the power.

Welcome to the forum Ismith2610. Do you mean the tail lights or the 316 rebuild project. I have gotten bogged down with painting the fender deck. I had to sand off the PO's paint job as the primer had been brushed on and left marks everywhere. Also the paint seemed gummy like it had never hardened properly, so I have removed most of it. If you are using the LED tail lights let us know how they work.

Looks great. I just picked up a 316 as well. Mine doesn't look that great though!

Great job on your 316, tkielbas! It wasn't until I saw yours that I realized my deck is missing the top and side covers.

Didn't see if it was a Kohler or an Onan, but it look great either way. Thanks for the pics.
