Well I added another Massey to the collection. Ended up picking up this 1655 last week. The owner said it sat a while but it runs pretty good. Still could use a little tinkering with. It's been repowered with a 18hp Onan though, not a diesel as the decal on the hood says. It came with a deck, which is in good shape and a front blade. Also included was a 3pt, set of weights, ags on wheels in addition to the turfs and front hubcaps. I quickly put the ags on it. No rear pto but that's ok, I'd still like to add one at some point. I must say this thing is pretty beefy, I'm used to my 14's & 16. And thanks to Kbuzz for helping me pick this tractor up.

I see the pictures are sideways, not sure why. could someone fix them for me? Thanks

That's a nice find. Love the factory hubcaps. Even a great set of wheel weights. Did the PO think it really was a diesel? Regardless, you'll love that thing. They're beasts for sure.

That is a nice find. Looks ready to work. Congratulations. Don't feel bad my pics are doing the same thing ever since my computer decided to upgrade to Windows 10.

Thanks everyone, I sure am looking forward to using this one and learning all about it. I didn't realize that the armrests where an accessory available from Massey. They sure look like the ones shown in the parts book. At first my wife said she liked the way my older Massey's looked, but once she sat on this one she said I could definitely cut the grass with it, it's comfortable.

Here's an update to the 1655, I picked up this Snapper 1855 with deck earlier this week. It's a little rough but the deck is solid and after reading about how hard parts are to source for them I figured better grab it. The price was worth it. I really don't have any intention of fixing up the tractor, just use it for parts. At least that's the plan for now. It'll run if I pour gas in the carb, but it runs so I'll mess with it a bit. Thanks to Kbuzz for helping me get this one. We seem to always have a good time picking up tractors. On the way home we passed a guy with three old AC garden tractors in his trailer. One had a loader on it. They were extremely nice. It's nice seeing others out there with similar interests.

Well I think I know where the motor from the Snapper is going. I picked up this 1655 a couple weeks ago. It’s all there except for the engine. The tractors a little dirty but I think it’ll clean up real nice. I wiped off a small part on the frame and hood and it looked really good. The guy I got it from said that the tractor had been sitting in a barn for 15-20 years. I was glad to hear that. Hopefully that means the powertrain and deck have low hours.

Another 1655!  Excellent!  This is the first one I've seen with the 15" rear wheel option.

Geez 3 supers in 5 months! And my wife thinks I have a "problem"! I haven't bought one in years... Nice finds! I am currently repowering a 1655 with a kubota d1105 and putting a montgomery wards front end loader on it too!

My wife thinks the same thing. Just this year I bought 7 tractors! Every time I tell her this is the last one, then I end up finding another one. Im pretty excited to use one of these beasts this coming spring. I have the first 1655 in the garage and are going to do some odds and ends to it. Complete tune up, steering bushings, fix the brake, new front tires and get the mower deck ready. Plus who knows what else. I don’t see these come up for sale too often, so I’m glad I was able to get three. Plus all three had mower decks with them.
