Hey gang,
I was wanting to know where some of you have bought your small engine tools? I think the main things I need is a ring compressor and a valve spring compressor. I may also get a hone but I think I will just take the blocks to the machine shop to have them done. I don't know how bad a shape the cylinder walls will be when I get the motor torn apart. I am rebuilding the Tecumseh HH100 on my Massey MF12 first once we move so I would like to get everything I will need a head of time.

Ring compressor from Autozone. Have 2 valve spring compressors I bought both at flea markets. Bought an old reciprocating hand crank valve lapping tool off ebay cheap. Bought my hone from a friend.

I have bought from Foley-Belsaw, they have most everything. Years ago I bought some tools from JC Whitney, they used to have a pretty good selection and great prices on small engine tools. That was a long time ago and I don't know if they still carry them or not.

I have bought tools all over; stores, ebay, Snap-On man... but my favorite places to hunt for must-haves would be garage sales, flea markets and auctions. One thing's for sure, a person can never have too many tools!
