A friend dropped off 2 -110 RF today for me to work on.

one has a broken head bolt that he could not get out.

the other one needs the transaxle gone through.  The other day I had to remove the shifter, because it was stuck in gear.

This is the first time I had to work on RFs.  Getting the transaxle out was a lot different than the 200 series I work on.  It will be fun.

Both are complete and in good condition with mower decks, the decks need a little work done to them.

Both of them look like they were kept inside.  Very little rust/

He got them from a neighbor.  One of them was brought new by the neighbor's father.

Any idea what year they are?

You are right, they are a fair amount different than the square fenders and the 200 series - not quite as easy to work on but nothing to challenging.  Probably second nature to you.

the one with the bad head stud - is SNT1031 061224M  (1966)

the other one is T1306 082000M (1967)

Got the transaxle out and tried cleaning the case and found a long crack in the case.  Got the case apart and to pieces fill to the floor from the other case.   Thick milky oil when I drained the case.  The that was still inside is thick milky and hard to clean.

Both shifter spring are bad.

Call my friend about the transaxle and he said now where to get a transaxle for it.

I told I had 5 transaxles here and that I will have to look for a good one.

We talked about what would cause the case to crack like that.

It had to be left outside in the rain and snow for water to get in the transaxle and in the winter it froze cause the crack.

Somebody did not change the transaxle oil for a long time from the way the oil looked.
