I am always looking for something DB related to add into the stable !

Found this about 75 Miles away from me and had to go and see it , I made an offer and it was on the trailer home.

Just got it in the driveway !!

Now the reason I really went down there today (saw it on C/L just this morn 8AM)was because of a couple things that are not quite original to these machines. :D

Rusty' and I have been looking for the aftermarket fenders for awhile and this has them. Plus the hubcaps aren't stock I don't believe .

S5001685.JPG

It is a 1963 725' 917-60629 model# , the motor is not original but a nice replacement '170402'.  . I am pleased with the thing .

It has the complete 3point hitch set-up . It has a weak spark , probably just needs to be cleaned on the points and flywheel , good compression . Been sitting a couple 3 years.

This will make a nice addition to my DBs .

Well... after some playing around with the points and wiring ,we found some flaws and corrected them . This is a good running and driving machine!!

Started the cleaning up of it .

Well , after playing around with this tractor ,fixing the motor so it runs good and getting the belts right this summer I decided to hook up my dozer blade and back blade on it for winter.

We had about 5" of snow over the weekend and I tried it out !!

Wow , now this is a great machine , it is fast and it has power to push.

Rusty was good and all , but I am very impressed with how this 7.25 works compared with the 5.75 .

A real bargain seeing as I mostly bought it for the fenders.  :D

It was warming up and the snow is sticky and heavy , but this thing is a workhorse and was able to get the job done !

Well , after getting quite a bit of use this winter , the old goat started giving me some trouble . Found a screw missing from the bottom of the carb . gas is leaking all over , It looks like the whole fuel system need an overhaul . Oh well , I know it will be worth the trouble , So out came 'Rusty' to the rescue !!

OK - so I had some Carb problems , I found a new 'Carburator' It was attached to this Engine.

S5001748.JPG

The guy said he put this on and it wouldn't run - start but not run.

Sooo, Since this Monkey motor is 8hp and all- I figured I could use a lot of parts from it for other things , same config as most B&S of this general size. It is a '72 8HP that was on a Rototiller.

So I takes a look at it and he botched up the install of the new Carb - He had the Gov. set-up jammed up so it wouldn't move and the throttle locked down so it couldn't move .

I offered him 2/3rds of his asking price and took it away.

It took me 23 minutes to get it fixed and running :D (My brother was timing me and I didn't know it. ) I said it would take 15.

That includes checking the Oil and adding gas .

S5001747.JPG S5001749.JPG

Since the Motor on this tractor is not original anyway I am going to put this one on the (Blue Monkey) and give it a try.
