A bit more work before my real job gets my attention.  The flywheel seems to be quite stuck.  I have soaked it down with PB Blaster but still no luck.

Great lyrics for the beginning of a hit country song if nothing else.  Best of luck with your project, as I hope it comes to fruition.

I have a Deere service manual in the works for this but the project is on hold as I am taking a bit of vacation time.

Bolens 1000 helped me with the parts to get this one going including head gasket, head bolts, replacement valve seat, and a carb rebuild kit.   :urock:

Did a bit more today. Accidentally reseated the old valve seat while removing valve. The carbon in this thing is pretty significant from where I sit.

Wife and daughter are out playing which gives me garage time.  Did a bit more work on this project.  Today's accomplishments include:

- cleaning the carbon out of the intake port and valve as well as top of head

- reseating and pinning the exhaust valve seat

- lapping and installing intake valve

- lapping and installing the head with a new head gasket and head bolts

- cleaning and reinstalling the crankcase breather

Sill cannot get the flywheel off of this thing even with the proper Briggs puller.  :mad2:

Any suggestions for bringing life back to the black plastic parts I cleaned up?
