I wouldn't lose any sleep over the rattle can. anymore I think I even said in other posts i prefer to use it. I have sprayed automotive grade but you really need to be set up correctly. In my busy life and schedule rattle cans work best for me. the real secret is good prep and primer and fully letting rattle can paint cure it takes awhile. the last 2 panzers I redid for the kids were done with rustoleum and have held up incredible with a 5 and 8 year old drivers. I have had zero issues with the paint wearing, scratching, fading or chipping.

Thanks Jay. I'm happy with the rattle can paint and you are right about letting it cure. This Duplicolor engine enamel is turning out to be some good paint for rattle can paint. The tractor will look fine when it's done and it feels good to have saved it. I often wonder how many have been melted down over the years.

I bought this tractor at an auction in May at the same place that the show is being held. I told them that I would bring it back in August to the show , restored.

I can't tell if you're regretful or that driven lol, no doubt about impressive though, all your tractors are sweet when done, was waiting for the front wheels for my two bits but really liked the time frame thing, you are serious tractor restorer

I'm not regretful at all jimmy G. I'll have the tractor ready since most of the hard work is done. When I got into all of this, I mainly wanted older tractors to do work around the place. I started seeing some of the tractors restored on forums like this, so I ended up getting interested in the hobby.

Hi classic the Page is really looking good, thanks for the tip on the duplicolor  paints, I use to use only PPG paints and a very good low pressure turbine paint set up but for the past few years have been just using rattle can paints and like all are saying it not PPG but I'm finding as posted its standing up good I think there have been some big improvements in rattle can paints these past few years.

Thanks, and you're welcome GB. The main thing with these ceramic engine paints is to let them dry, then put heat to it. These paints will not fully cure without heat. There are instructions for curing this type of paint online. There is also a good variety of colors to choose from and it sprays really nice out of the spray nozzle.
