Did the bugs today. Not to many now and been 4 days since I last did them. So I figure I won. Map gas tank still not empty.
And the cobblers I planted on July 14 after digging out the green mountains are up. July 30. So far 16 plants out of 50 seeds are showing thru the ground. No sign of them 4 days ago when I was out to do the bugs.

Will those be for fall "baby potatoes" or will they have time to mature for storage?

It has been real wet and cold here.  Put in spuds leftover from the rootcellar 6/1, planted kind of deep in 2-row plow furrows.  Slow to emerge but all did (100-120?)  Reds whites and russets.  CPB showed up early right when I was worried about flea bettiles.  I sprayed with neem extract for both as well as cucumber beetles.  It knocked back all CPB for 3 weeks and eliminated flea/cucumber beetles on other crops.  I hand picked CPB egg clusters and some maggots but it's over that unless we get another hatch.

I have a bag of 2016 whites left in the cellar, tempted to plant those as not rotted at all and just some healthy sprouts (you could eat them if you took off sprouts).  Maybe a superior strain that should be continued? I have to till in some buckwheat soon so will have space.
