so i put the head on yesterday afternoon, let the head sealer dry overnight. fired it up this morning ran it full bore over the septic tank like nothing. no chirping just the hydro and the engines regular noises. now i need to run some regular gas through it, the mmo is whats making it smoke.

I would just burn the gas with he mmo in it, I don't think it would hurt anything and no sense wasting gas with the outrageous gas prices.

i would never waste the gas, but next time i fill it up im gonna run straight gas through her and see if it still smokes. kohlers seem to smoke anyway. my friend who rebuilt his 8 horse fully, new piston rings ect still has smoke coming from his engine.

An engine should not smoke if a proper rebuild was done to it......
Possibly he should have used an oversize ring set as the bore may be worn out
