Hello guys.

Anybody know if a Tillotson YC carb was ever standard or replacement on a Standard Twin?

Yeh,

Doesn't look like that one to me.

There's a YC on ebay, but I think it's from a bigger tractor.  However it is bolted to a ST intake.  Looks to be re-stamped too.  I found no kits of any kind for the models it appears to be stamped as.  Looks to NOW be a YC-1b, which as far as I can tell, might not exist.  Who knows.  It does look like it would hook up similar to my existing one on my ST.  I'm passing on it.

Give it a hunt if interested.  NOT MINE.

Dug out my Tillotson manual. The YC-1A was used in 38 on the Toro ME, MF, and MH engines. It was replaced in 39 by the YC-1B for the same application and was used 39-52 at least. This manual is a 52.

One thing I would expect to be in a dealer catalog would be a replacement carb for a mfg they weren't OEM for but this one doesn't seem to have it. If you went to the local Tillotson carb dealer and told him you would rather have that than the Zenith, what would they have recommended? I don't think I've ever seen that info listed anywhere. Would be nice to know.

Yeh.  My first thought was that maybe it was an old cross referenced carb for the ST application, but no way to know.  And if it wasn't...who knows if they ever got it to run right?
