I have a bolens 38 inch model 13am762f765. I got too close to the side of the house and it hit the clutch, not real hard but since then I am stuck in fast gear. when I first start off the speed selected works for a second or two then the clutch slips about an inch towards me and the tractor is in high gear. I don't know if something broke off or I bent something or it needs to be adjusted. there is no clutch adjustment in the owner manual. any help would be appreciated.

The parts manual is here

I would look closely for some bent rods connecting the clutch pedal and/or shift lever; page 12 of the parts manual has the relevant schematics.

If you can get some good pictures of the damage and the linkages/rods, someone might be able to spot something.

thank you for that parts manual. I've been looking very hard for any visible damage and don't see any. right now i'm wedging something in the clutch to keep it from slipping so I don't have to mow in highgear. thanks again
