My serial number under seat ends in 996. Is this a 900 series tractor got cheap has 18h
Briggs opposed twin. looking for info to sell or keep and restore also It will only turn one way?? steering gear shot I assume? Bad job to fix??

We like pictures!  Everything is Hard to fix anymore for me!  Might have to remove many items and then get steer shaft all the way out bottom, but don't know. Many times a spacer in the shaft makes gears mesh harder, OR, cold have  a tooth off somewhere and then it is new gear time.

Hard to determine what you might have without pictures. It is likely an 800 series tractor.

I've got an mtd 995 (18hp hydrostatic yard man) I've staryed looking for parts and It's not looking good. Looks like a lot of the parts were discontinued in 1998
