Welcome, from the worlds Nickle capital.  Looks like you are on the right track to finding your first garden tractor.

I'm biased---I love my MF12G and there isn't much difference from a 10 to a 12 besides the engine. What year is the 10 and is it hydro or gear? Most of all though is it reasonably priced?

I don't know whether gear or hydro, it looks like someone's baby lol. pic below. Price at $1,750.00 with mower. You have good opinion of Tecumseh engines?  I remember a rotortiller we had when I was a boy, with a Tecumseh, good rotortiller. Do you consider the MF10 a light garden tractor?

It's a geared one. You can see the shifter in front of the seat. I'm guessing 1970. Looks to be in great shape. Keep the oil full, just like any engine, and it will be fine. I have a deck, tiller, snow thrower, and a homemade loader on my 12 and it works good.

That 10G looks like brand new! If the engine is as fresh as the tractor looks, I would think that engine is as good as the care you take of it. After 43 years of faithful service I did have to retire the 12 horse Tecumseh on my 12G. It ran well still but needed an overbore-smoking badly and standard bore overhaul didn't help. I couldn't find a piston for it. I have a 10 horse Tecumseh in my MF8E and it has run great for many years.

I'm not sure how to classify a "light" garden tractor but if it doesn't have a sleeve hitch or 3 point hitch for pull-behind ground engaging attachments I suppose it may be considered a "light" GT. Most folks here should be able to answer that one for you.

Sleeve hitches were available, when new, or you could make one.

No I haven't hadanything for sale for couple of months.  There is a guy at Lacombe that always has garden tractors for sale.  JD mostly.  He likes to paint, clean and flip.  He's not much on the mechanics end of them.  FYI
