Hey guys, long time no see.

Anyways, if yall can remember back awhile ago i posted a single pic of a yardman tractor, the pic was far away and the tractor was buried in my dads pole barn. We finally began cleaning the barn out and i unearthed it and took some pics...

Now, heres where im at. The model number is scratched off, i belive before guys thought it was a 960, but whats odd is its an 11hp/4sp model. Not a repower since the decals on the tractor say 11hp.

Ive seen (very) few this style around online, but all have been 16hp or 18hp with usually a hydrostat, but the bodys match.

Heres some pics, id like to get it running and pretty, but just want any and all info you guys can come up with...

Can't help, even a little.
Nice little tractor, hope you can get some info on it.
That model tag looks more like a barcode, it's so worn.

Its actually bigger then it looks in the pics, i got a 80s 860 and it dwarfs that. Its actually very close in size to my 2185 cub cadet

Not even close to a 960, the engine is mounted 90 degrees different, the 960 crankshaft was parallel to the frame. The 960 also used an automotive type dry clutch. It actually looks more like an 80's White gear drive.Nice tractor and well worth restoring.

There was an 11hp 4spd tractor offered in 1979, but the hood appears different than yours.  ....Yours may be before, or after, 1979 by a year or two ???

There is also the possibility that the brochure pics do not match actual production.

That was the brochure that was posted last time i brought it up.

The motor dates to 76, not sure if its numbers matching though. But it is an 11hp for sure.

In these years did MTD own yardman? I tried to search by the serial number came up empty

Holy crap i found it on tractordata. It was not there before but says it was updated june 20. 2017.

www.tractordata.com/lawn-tractors/002/9/9/2991-yard-man-14910.html.

The picture is different, it matches the 79 model in the brochure, but it says that model was built from 77-81. Im guessing mine is probaly a 77 since the motor is a 76. I dont remember the exact date.

Unfourtantly no serial number info though

Some of these models fell into a black hole. Yours is very similar to my 1995 YaRD MaN model 999. The dash plate, nose piece (the metal part), rear fender pan, and foot rests look nearly identical.
