They are nice tractors.  Yours looks in good shape.  This should be the manual http://gardentractor...e/1504-1668pdf/

This looks like the manual for the rear discharge deck http://gardentractor...-18335-42inpdf/

That double deck pulley is expensive new.  tho one just sold on ebay pretty cheap.  maybe a machine shop to fix yours...?

OK, pulled deck off to take a look at front spindle. First, it looks like it is orig round size, not all gored. Did find what must be remains of a key? The whole spindle kind of moves up /down a bit when pulled from blade side. Now, when messing with, I pushed it back and the bearing pulled out some with movement. Should this shaft if clean be able to just be floating in that housing till blade is on?? or Pulley? Look at couple pix and see if you can see anything wrong in bottom veiw, heh!

Power wash today. Here's B4 pix. Thought engine was Gold, but think silver orig, just dirty now. Look at black under hood and sides. Think mostly carbon from no muffler a long time. Had one wired on it, all loosey.

More after pix. Much better, till I climbed under, heh! Had jacked up, still lots missed. That black didn't clean good, even with soap and sponge. Tried some bleach and better, not best.

Get you a clay bar on that hood. If the paint is there, it'll shine it up real good.

Good lordy, that looks like it was driven thru a swamp... much cleaner now tho. The plus side to all the grunge is it's a great paint preserver. Now you can see better what ya got. Good luck with things GL.
