Well, disease is strong....trying to hold back....H16XL on sales list by me for only $100. Woman owns it, barely knew what she had when I messaged. She doesn't know what engine. Looking at manuals here looks like Wisconsin's in them?  Hoping not Onan. Course, never had a WI either, and don't here much nice about them. BUT, she says has car battery and it runs!  Says deck needs pulleys, what-ever that really means. Thinking spindles probly. So, what think?  Worth getting or am going to be banging head on wall and have to use that Emoticon soon? This is one of models I was looking to try, earlier on this year.

What the heck. When someone shows to buy one of the other umpteen tractors you have for sale, they have another choice to pick from.

H16XL had the Tech engine.  The XT had the Briggs.  In the smaller once like the G11XL had the Briggs, or at least mine does.  If it runs grab it.  XL are much better tractors than the tube frames in my opinion.  Once you get it going the way you want you will go to it first.

If the tractor is to rough to save but the engine has spark you can get your money back just from the ignition module. Go for it lol.

BUT, she says has car battery and it runs!  Says deck needs pulleys, what-ever that really means. Thinking spindles probly.

If it runs that is half the battle with the old tecumsehs, the spark thing.  i'd bring a voltmeter and make sure it is charging.  can't go wrong for a hundred bucks especially if it has hydraulic lift.  the deck pulleys should have grease fittings on top, you can reach all the blades from underneath with the deck mounted to check for play.  if it has the deck covers those are worth the asking price alone on ebay.

all the other xl attachments will fit this machine.  tiller, sleeve hitch, dozer blade, blower.  can get the hydro filter from the site sponsors around 25 bucks and it's not too bad to change.  Maybe this will be the tractor to make up for your earlier bolens suffering.  Or maybe it will just add to the pain.  only you can decide...

I find when I hit my thumb with a hammer, a quick hit on the other thumb stops the first one from hurting so much. 😁
