I'm re thinking it because it almost a hour away from my house.

Well how is the prevailing or offered money compared to more local jobs? Around here all jobs are a half hour at least commute. Last job I had was almost a hour but they gave me $1.00 more a hour for it.
Good luck either way you chose!

Totally understand now! You do what is best in your situation! Up here we are too far from paying jobs. Most commute to NYC from here.

An hour each way,,,, man that gets to be a tough trip everyday, especially if your paying the expenses.  I did it for 12 yrs but I had a company vehicle and they paid for everything up front. I finally got tired of all the road time and found a place local for the same salary.

How did this end up? I've turned down jobs that were too far. I suggest that you put GTs on hold for awhile and fix up a second vehicle. An old Chevy Pickup is real handy. Good Luck, Rick

Try to learn as much as you can it will never hurt .  With the new diesels there's so much electronics along with the associated emissions , that included off-road , trains ect . With the internet  there's so many videos to watch and learn , Snap-On & Wells has some good ones I've watched  too, many others out there . My " go to " site for Ford 6.0 & 6.4 is https://www.youtube....r/DieselTechRon

http://www.wellsve.com/videos.html   Even if you don't have a SnapOn scanner the general use how things get diagnosed is helpful   https://www1.snapon....stics/US/CC.htm

We have an excellent diesel school here, University of Northwestern Ohio.

Never turn down an opportunity to earn another ticket. Even if it doesn't directly apply to the job you may be applying for it proves to an employer that you are willing and able to learn, and are motivated. Lots of jobs legally require "paper" certification, not just ability and job experience. IMO the ability and experience out weigh the paper any day, but rules are what they are... some battles just aren't worth fighting. Good luck on the diesel course.
