Just curious if you checked out the block on the underside yet. That seems to be an area on them that is an issue.

I thought I would encourage you with some pictures of ours before and after.

I did check after reading. It was fairly gunk covered. After cleaning most off, I found more paint than is on the rest of the tractor. Makes me wanna put the gunk back on!!! Didn't see any cracks or holes. Nothing to indicate thin casting. The oil filter cap is wet bit hasn't left a spot yet. Think I'm gonna wear a helmet when I remove the starter cover. Looks like something is living there!!!

Nice pics btw. Hopefully mine will look that good in the next decade haha.

Thanks for the kind words.  We did a nut and bolt restoration on it in 2001.  Restored to factory correct except for the polished stainless exhaust pipe and a 12 volt generator from a later A.  I must say it does still look good 16 years later.

Not yet!!! I've had a few family things to attend to and also have my boat taking up shop space. Patched the floor, new carpet, and new fuse box. Hope to have it out soon.
