I got this to resell. 20 hp 46" cut. It cleaned up nice and when I was servicing the machine that's when I noticed it has a plastic housing rear end! No where built like the old Ariens 14 hp I had 20 years ago.

Sad, but true. Plastic is here to stay!

 

Half the parts inside that Briggs are Plastic.

sounds like JUNK to me.... more reason to keep the old ones around Plastic? a trow a way for sure... and more safeties than the space shuttle... that are not needed if the operator has at least 1/2 of a brain

Ariens sold yesterday! $650... would I have paid that much? No way!

cool... someone else's problem now when that plastic housing splits..... Me, I'm sticking with the older ones.... I have a '95 vintage YT Ariens that has more idiot proofing on it than is needed, but at least it don't have the one that kills the engine if you have the mower deck going and put the machine into reverse....

Depending on how new yours is it might really be a Husquavarna,

Ariens isnt currently making tractors themselves... Husk is making them for Ariens....
